General working policy一般工作政策

1. Safety first.安全第一。

2. Always take lab notes 確實記錄實驗室筆記。

3. Flexible working hours but performance-based evaluation. 你可選擇靈活的工作時間，但會基於你的表現結果進行評估

4. Take vacation whenever you need it. 如果你需要，就可以請休假

5. Publication authorship is assigned based on work & performance. If you write the first draft and execute major portion of the paper, you're entitled of first authorship. 發表文章的作者順位基於工作和表現進行分配。如果您撰寫了初稿並執行了文章的主要部分，您有資格成為第一作者。

6. Active take on a new project after one project. Builds your skills and competence! 題目永遠不少。不要只安於只完成一個題目，完成一個就接著挑戰下一個，構築自己的能力!

7. Attending laboratory meeting is mandatory. Can't accept i will ask you to leave. 

Key competence required before graduation, applies to all graduate students適用於所有研究生在畢業前達成的關鍵能力： 

1.  General lab safety and biosafety procedures 一般實驗室安全和生物安全程序的知識

2.  Correct keeping of lab notes正確的實驗記錄保存方式

3.  Journal paper reading, critical thinking, and presentation學術論文閱讀、批判性思維和簡報技巧

4.  Experimental techniques (at least those at core to your thesis)實驗技術（至少包括與你的論文核心相關的技術）

5.  CAD competence電腦輔助設計（CAD）的能力

6.  Thesis writing (bibliography keeping, structuring, technical writing).  論文撰寫（包括文獻管理、結構安排和技術寫作）

7.  Technical presentation in English以英語進行技術簡報

Thematic intern 大學部專題生

1. Recommend to pick a project that interests you. Or shadow a projects of master/phd students. Exceptional students welcome to pitch your idea. 建議選擇一個你感興趣的專題進行研究，或者跟著碩士和博士生的論文項目。對於傑出的學生，歡迎提出你自己的研究想法。 

Master students 碩士班學生

1.  Feasible projects will be assigned to you. Exceptional students welcome to pitch your idea. 可行的題目將分配給您。對於傑出的學生，歡迎提出您的研究想法。

2.  All due course credits recommended to obtain by end of 1st year. 建議在第一學年結束前獲得所有應修學分。

3.  Proposal must be presented before the 6th week of  the first semester of 2nd year.  (department policy) 預口試必須在第二學年的第一學期的第六週之前完成。（部門政策，否則就會延畢）

4.  Journal reading & presentation key training in weekly lab meeting for the 1st year. 每週實驗室會議中的期刊閱讀和報告是大一學生的重要訓練內容。

5. Presentation to domestic conference by graduation is a must. 畢業前必須在國內研討會進行報告。

6. Thesis written in English is encouraged. 鼓勵以英文撰寫論文。

7. Original article publication is encouraged.鼓勵發表原創文章，尤其未來想深造或出國的學生。 

Ph.D. students 博士班學生

1.  A core project of the lab will be assigned to execute but not necessarily your thesis topic.

2.  New hypotheses & idea must be presented and explored by end of 2nd year.  

3.  All due course credits must be obtained by end of 2nd year.

4.  Proposal must be presented at the end of 2nd year. 

5. No raise of stipend will be considered before advancing to candidacy

6.  Thesis written in English is required. 

7.  Supervise thematic student & master student (teaching experience)

8.  At least one original article and one international conference presentation is required (graduation requirements of CGU is hasher and also apply to all students, 12 points of publication, roughly 3 original articles. one you have to be sole first author.)

We do at least two interviews to understand below 我們至少面試兩次確保我了解你下面的想法

1. Carefully think about why you are doing this master or phd. (你為什麼要唸這個碩士班、博士班)

2. What kind of research do you want to do ? (你想做什麼研究?)

3. What experience you had ? what research have you done (你曾做過什麼研究?)

4. What do you think me or this lab can help you with? what do you think you can bring to this lab?  (雙向，你覺得我跟實驗室能怎麼幫你，你能帶來什麼給實驗室?)

5. What's your career plan? (你的人生規畫)
